A DIFFERENT KIND OF GIFT FOR MY BIRTHDAY

My name is Loredana, and “HOME” is my favorite place.

For over 3 years, I’ve been dedicating my work to something I truly believe in, with a passion so strong that it sometimes feels tangible. Together with my colleagues from Hope and Homes for Children, I’ve been trying to provide a HOME for the most vulnerable children în Romania.

What does HOME mean to me, at 28 years old? HOME is every time I visit my grandparents and find, in their house, all the things and emotions that made my childhood wonderful. It’s a place I wouldn’t ever want to change, a place that I would like to stay just as I remember it. HOME is the family meals, filled with our laughter, and the place of the warmest hugs, where my siblings are my most cherished people in the world.

All these experiences and people have shaped me who I am today, at (almost) 28 years old. And because I value HOME so much, it’s now my turn to build it for other children. My biggest wish is to help lay the foundation of a family home where 12 children with disabilities will live.
