Every victory is more beautiful when we share it

Thank you so much for your generosity, I truly feel the support from so many of you, both for myself and for the children!

Even though we’ve reached the fundraising goal I’ve set, every extra donation adds another brick to their home. All donations made by the end of October 9th will be entered into the draw for my special prize.

Let’s gather even more of us – and spread kindness for a greater Good!

FAMILY! That’s what Raluca shouted when we took a group photo, after an hour of playtime with all of them—the children for whom I’m writing to you today.

Dear friends,

The emotion of standing on the Olympic podium in 2024, proudly wearing the Romanian flag, will forever remain in my heart. But that victory isn’t just about me. It’s about each one of you, all of you who supported me, and the values we share.

Today, I sincerely wish to have you by my side again, because beyond the victories that are measured in medals, there are other battles – more important, yet quieter – rarely seen, but with a huge impact.

That’s why, from my heart, for their home, today I happily donate the equipment I wore on the podium, so that 11 children can grow up in a warm environment, adapted to their needs. I want them to feel at Home, like in a family. These are children with moderate and severe special needs from the last orphanage in Sector 5, and from them, I’ve received my most valuable medal: one crafted, with great effort, by their hands.

We need 11,500 generous people to donate at least 50 RON for these children. Together, we can raise a quarter of the funds needed by Hope and Homes for Children to build the home they’ve been dreaming of. The home they asked me about, with hopeful eyes: “When will it be ready?”

But in reality, I believe there are much more generous people. And for that, I thank you! Medals and podiums may fade, but acts of solidarity and kindness last forever. Let’s build, together, a Home and a Family for Raluca, Horațiu, Cosmin, Aura, Marcu, Vlad, Cezar, Alecu, Sara, Corina, and Adela!

Help David lay the foundation for the home that we, Hope and Homes for Children, are building for 11 children with severe special needs by making a donation of minimum 50 RON.
David will reward your kindness with a special gesture. The winner will be drawn at the end of the campaign period (September 30 – October 9) and will receive the equipment David Popovici wore at the medal ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

For these 11 children, David is our Home Ambassador, alongside Amalia Enache, Mihai Morar, Marius Manole, and Alexandru Tomescu.
