Visit to the Animal Farm

10 UiPath Foundation volunteers accompanied a group of 17 Ukrainian children to the Animal Farm to offer them, in this hard period, new experiences, joy, and a bit of normality. The children arrived in Bucharest with their mothers at the beginning of the war, from a maternal centre in Ukraine. Ever since, both children and mothers have received all the care they needed thanks to our partnership with UiPath Foundation and DGASPC Sector 3.

Play goes beyond the language barrier

Not speaking the same language didn’t seem to be a problem at all: the moment they met, each child grabbed a volunteer by the hand and together they went on a real adventure: they fed the animals from the farm, tried the the zipline, jumped on the trampoline, made sand drawings and jumped on the trampoline again. The mothers were also happy, both for their children’s experiences, but also because they could have some moments to rest and take care of the little babies.

With patience and determined to give children the chance to enjoy a wonderful Sunday, the most precious gift offered by the UiPath Foundation volunteers was actually their time, their attention and the feeling of being safe, even pampered. Just as any child has the right to be.

A little normality

“It’s impressive to see how the language barrier literally falls, to see that you don’t communicate through words, but through warm looks and hugs. What the Ukrainian children experienced together with the UiPath Foundation volunteers was not just a day full of fun in a beautiful place, but the joy of being hugged, seen, caressed, as their mothers – young women who have run away from abuse, now from the war, some of them having 3 children, others 4 children – don’t always have the time to do.

What we have achieved together with UiPath Foundation these months is extraordinary, and the fact that we have given these children not only stability and safety, but also joyful experiences, is further proof that, together, we can do so much good”, said Robert Ion, Director of Fundraising and Communication, Hope and Homes for Children Romania.

Thank you from the bottom our heart, UiPath Foundation!

In the past months, we have been able to take care of 230 Ukrainian children with the support of UiPath Foundation, who joined our efforts in early May 2022, so that the little ones lack nothing, in this period of uprooting and war. Thank you, dear volunteers! Beyond food, clothes, supplies or medicines, you have given children not only your time, but also the joy of normality.
