A NEW FAMILY-TYPE HOME IN IAȘI COUNTY

This month we started the construction of a new family-type house in Țuțora, Iași county, with funding from the Tester Grup Humanitarian Association and in partnership with the local authorities.

The Ion Holban Placement Center will get closed

Upon completion of the construction, 12 children with special needs will leave the Ion Holban Placement Center in Iași, to move Home.

Home will mean for them a beautiful and warm house on one level with a very spacious living room, kitchen, laundry room and terrace, as well as four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The land with an area of about 5,200 m2 on which the house is being built was made available by the Țuțora City Hall, together with the Iași County Council and the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Iași.

At this moment, in addition to the family house under construction in Țuțora, 2 others are under construction, in the Aroneanu and Miroslava (Iași County). By building these 3 family houses, it will be possible to put the lock on the Ion Holban Placement Center.

We started the deinstitutionalization process in the county in 2014

In Iași County, we have already built 4 family homes for institutionalized children, thus contributing to the lockdown of the Veniamin Costache (2017) and St. Spiridon (2018) Placement Centers.

Robert Ion – General Director of Hope and Homes for Children Romania: “The family-type homes built by Hope and Homes for Children offer children and young people an environment that is as close as possible to the family one, they enjoy care, education, emotional support and counseling for them to be able to become responsible adults, integrated in society. We thank our partners for being involved in giving these children a childhood and adolescence where they can feel safe, supported, protected and confident.”

We prevent the separation of children from their parents and help young people leaving orphanages We run programs aimed at preventing the separation of children from their parents and supporting young people who leave the protection system when they reach the age of 18, through socio-professional integration actions. In addition, the Foundation is building the first Respiro center in Iași, intended for children with disabilities. With an investment of 550,000 euros, the center will be put into use in 2025 and will offer integrated care and recovery services for a fixed period for children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18, as well as counseling and guidance for their families.
