Saint-Gobain Foundation continues to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children and young people, through family apartment renovation projects. A new stage in this process was marked with the inauguration of two renovated apartments in district 3 of Bucharest. 11 girls have already moved into the 2 family apartments. They come from the Pinocchio Fostering Centre, which they left forever to move to a warm and welcoming Home, Fostering Center that we managed to close thanks to this renovation project.
These two residential spaces are not simple apartments, but real homes, equipped with everything necessary for a daily life in complete normality. Designed to provide a family environment, here every child can grow up safely, surrounded by support, counselling and affection.
This is not the first intervention developed in partnership with the Saint-Gobain Foundation. Between 2017-2020, three other family apartments were renovated in Suceava, Gura Humorului and Fălticeni. In addition, Saint-Gobain Foundation also contributed to the construction of a family home in Suceava county, intended for a number of 12 children from the protection system who thus received the chance for normality.
With a total investment of 114,000 euros from the Saint-Gobain Foundation, during the 7 years of partnership, the Foundation has changed the lives of over 35 children and young people for the better, offering them not only a roof, but the strength to look towards a different future.
